Fertilisers and crop protection are essential tools for agricultural crop production – ensuring nutrient supply and plant health. The goal is to protect plants from external factors such as weather, pests, fungi and weeds, while providing them with the optimal supply of macro- and micronutrients.
Pesticides and fertilisers are under close observation in terms of environmental protection. We address these requirements with innovative solutions.
For example, in the fight against the European corn borer, a pest that spreads within the stalk of the corn plant and causes it to collapse. The solution involves parasitoid wasp larvae (Trichogramma), which are packaged in small pellets and dispersed over the cornfields using drones.
Currently, 4,000 hectares across Austria are being freed from the corn borer through drone flights.
Another innovation is the Spot-Spraying Machine:
This machine is equipped with high-resolution cameras and AI technology. As it passes over fields, the machine detects weed plants and can then precisely apply the pesticide. The savings in pesticide usage range from 80-90%, making it a win-win situation for both agriculture and the environment.
